It’s no real surprise that the new 2014 Chevy Corvette Stingray has turned up on Jay Leno’s Garage… or that it’s a gorgeous car.
Okay, so technically, Jay Leno had to go to the car instead of the car already being in his possession, since it is currently housed at Brown’s Classic Auto in Scottsdale, Arizona. While there, he does a walkthrough on the newest member of the Chevy Corvette family, accompanied by Ed Welburn, General Motors design head.
In classic Corvette tradition, the new Stingray has a pushrod V8 engine, with 450hp and 450 ft-lb torque. The twist is that it’s also one of the most green gasoline-powered sports cars ont he planet. It has an active fuel management feature that drops the V8 down to essentially the power level of a 4-cylinder in appropriate situations.
